Stone Program Postdoc at Harvard University & incoming Assistant Professor of Sociology at UC Berkeley (2025-).

I am a historical sociologist engaged in economic, urban/regional, and social inequality research. My research examines the regulatory and social politics surrounding home-based moneymaking, as previously stigmatized forms of informality became increasingly popular.

My dissertation The Regulatory Politics of Home-Based Moneymaking After the Family Wage, examines the intersections between labor market restructuring and contested household efforts to monetize domestic skills, underused home space, illiquid assets, and social networks. My dissertation received the 2024 Dissertation Award from the American Sociological Association.

I grew up in Calexico, California, along the U.S./Mexico border.
